ICAN manages the Grains Research Updates on behalf of the Grains Research and Development Corporation in the Northern Grains Region of Australia.  Details of upcoming Updates are shown below.

What’s new in managing problem weeds? - 1-day workshop for grains advisers

These  Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) supported 1-day workshops for grains advisers will look at what’s new in managing problem weeds.

Share knowledge and discuss experiences with industry experts and peers on new developments in problem weed and herbicide resistance management and how this translates to successful management change.

These small group workshops will discuss issues at the cutting edge of what’s new in weed management; what’s working; what’s not and tips on how to make it work and get it adopted focusing on problem weeds such as feathertop Rhodes grass, sweet summer grass, barnyard grass, liverseed grass, windmill grass, fleabane and sowthistle.  Agendas and focus weeds will be modified to suit regional need.

A training course in Cereal Foliar Disease Management, designed specifically for practising agronomists. This 2-day workshop is for grains advisers providing advice on the management of foliar diseases in cereals. It covers the integration of genetics and  varietal selection, seasonal conditions and epidemiology with the use of at-sowing and foliar fungicides for the economic management of foliar  diseases in wheat and barley. Integrated Weed Management (IWM) workshops for farm advisers
A training course in Integrated Weed Management, designed specifically for practising agronomists. The course focuses on the practical application of integrated tactics for weed management and looks at how different tactics can be effectively used in combination to reduce herbicide selection pressure. Information on course dates and locations will be available once finalised.

This workshop has been developed and delivered with support from growers and the federal government through the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC).

Integrated Weed Management (IWM) one-day workshop for grain growers
This 1-day workshop on the practical implementation of IWM assists growers to better identify and manage the cropping weed challenges they face. These workshops are targeted to broad acre grain growers and mixed crop / livestock producers. 

This workshop has been developed and delivered with support from growers and the federal government through the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC).
